Understanding Natural Detox Symptoms
Our body has its own natural detoxification mechanisms, and certain symptoms may appear as part of the process. Don’t be alarmed by these signs—they indicate that your body is working to eliminate toxins. Here’s how to approach some common detox symptoms:
Runny Nose
A runny nose is a sign that your body is expelling toxins. You don't need to do anything special—simply use a tissue. This is the body’s natural detox at work
Cough
A cough may indicate that your lungs are struggling to expel toxins. Help your body detox by consuming the following herbs and foods in water, tea, or other forms:
Holy basil
Small onions
Oregano leaves
Black pepper
Cabbage
These ingredients can help dilate the airways and promote the expulsion of toxins, which may come out in the form of mucus, cold symptoms, or a runny nose.
Fever
A fever is another common detox reaction. If the fever is manageable, it’s best to let it run its course. However, if the fever feels too high and you're uncomfortable, try this method:
Soak a pure white cotton cloth in room-temperature water.
Apply it to your forehead to cool down.
Start adding 1-2 drops of oregano oil into a water bottle and drink at least 2 bottles a day until your symptoms decrease.
Tip: Listen to Your Body
When you experience a bitter taste on your tongue, it may indicate that your body doesn’t want food except those that provide the right minerals and vitamins. Try this approach:
Take a bite of a fruit or vegetable, or a sip of juice, and pay attention to the taste. If the bitterness fades, it means that food is beneficial for you at that moment.
Continue eating that fruit or vegetable in moderation.
